VIDEO: Take a tour of Multnomah Falls
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Crews remain cautiously optimistic after successfully protecting the historic Multnomah Falls Lodge from the 3,200-acre wildfire in the Columbia River Gorge.
KATU's Cat Van and other members of the media got to tour the area around the falls, and saw there was no damage to the lodge.
Crews report some nearby trees were scorched by the fire, and they're worried about debris falling from overhead.
The main bridge at Multnomah Falls appears to be in good shape, but the conditions of the trail leading up to it are unknown.
