Who hit and killed this young woman? Still no answers a year later

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. - It's been nearly a year since a 22-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking home from a movie and investigators still do not know who hit her.

On May 9, 2012, Tatyana Tupikova was walking northbound on the east side of State Route 503, just north of the Battle Ground Cinemas, when she was hit by a passing vehicle or perhaps an item extending from a passing vehicle. She had just watched a 6:30 p.m. showing of The Avengers and police believe she was hit around 9 p.m.

A passerby discovered Tupikova's body two days after family members reported her missing. She died of blunt force trauma.

The young woman was one of 14 children in her family. She worked at a retirement home and had hoped to become a nurse someday.
