Wildfire now burning on Washington side, across from Eagle Creek Fire
SKAMANIA COUNTY, Wash. —
A wildfire is now burning on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge across from the massive Eagle Creek Fire on the Oregon side that has forced hundreds of people to evacuate.
According to the Skamania County Fire District No. 5, the fire is burning on a ridge on Archer Mountain.
A Level 3 (Go!) evacuation order has been issued for Smith-Cripe residence and Archer Mountain Road residence. A Level 3 order has also been issued for Archer Mountain Road-Smith crops and Deville Road.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, the fire burning on the Washington side is about 10 acres.
