Woman, 20, seriously injured in Clackamas County crash

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. - A woman was seriously injured when her car crashed into a semi truck Sunday night in Clackamas County.

It happened on Southwest Stafford Road near Elk Road at around 8:25 p.m., according to Sgt. Paul Coleman with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses told investigators that the driver of the car, 20-year-old Stephanie Shternberg, lost control of her Toyota Corolla and it slid into the oncoming traffic lane, where it crashed into a semi truck.

Firefighters pulled Shternberg out of her badly damaged car. She was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to a Portland hospital. Her condition is unknown.

The truck driver was not hurt.
