Woman, 85, dies in crash near Keizer; husband injured

KEIZER, Ore. - An 85-year-old woman died and her 86-year-old husband was injured in a three-car crash near Keizer Wednesday evening.

It happened in the 9800 block of River Road N.E. at 5:30 p.m., the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators said Loyd Penner, 86, of Dallas, made a left turn into the path of an oncoming vehicle, causing the crash. The two cars careened into a third vehicle.

Penner's wife, 85-year-old Lavaughn Penner, died in the crash. She was riding in the front passenger seat, investigators said.

The other two drivers were not hurt.
