Woman dies in crash near Sheridan

SHERIDAN, Ore. (AP) The Oregon State Police says a motorist died at the scene of a crash on Highway 18B near Sheridan.

According to Sgt. Brad Hessel, 23-year-old Candice M. Diaz of Sheridan was driving a Ford Explorer early Saturday when she overcorrected after failing to properly negotiate a left curve.

The vehicle rolled after veering across the highway and into a ditch. Police said Diaz was partially ejected. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Nobody else was in the vehicle.

The highway was closed for about 3 hours during the investigation.
