Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a robbery in which a woman was punched and her purse was stolen.

Investigators say it happened in the Clackamas Square strip mall on SE 82nd Avenue Thursday around 9 a.m.

Lisa Markel told KATU News she visits Johnny's Deli, at Clackamas Square, multiple times a week to play video poker.

Thursday, she said, she was eating breakfast and drinking coffee inside her parked Chevy Tahoe in the middle of the parking lot. She said a man approached her, knew her name and asked if she knew someone named Matt. Markel said she did not know the man.

"He was acting really weird so I went to lock my door and I was too late. He grab the door, jumped in, punched me in my nose. Started to punch me in my head," she said.

The suspect, she said, took her purse and keys and ran south.

"He has the keys to my, home to my car," she said.

Markel said she was taken to the hospital by ambulance. She said her nose was fractured and she had to get five stitches.

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies told KATU the suspect had a neck tattoo and was wearing blue jeans.

"I'm hoping that he gets caught and that he gets prosecuted for what he did to me," she said.

Following the attack, Markel believes the suspect knew her and her routine. She believes she was targeted because she recently one a jackpot playing video poker.

She told KATU she will not return to the area out of fear.

"I don't plan on leaving my home for a little while," she said.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office did not respond to KATU with additional information on the robbery.
