Woman sues TriMet after being run over by MAX train
PORTLAND, Ore. —
A woman who lost a leg after being run over by a MAX train in 2015 is now suing TriMet.
Andrea Laing is seeking $24 million in damages.
Witnesses say Laing was wearing earbuds and didn't hear the blaring horn of the MAX train as she crossed the tracks at the Elmonica Station in Beaverton. But her lawsuit faults TriMet for not installing warning gates and flashing lights.
No comment on the suit so far from either Laing's attorney or from TriMet.
