Woman unhurt after nearly driving off steep cliff along Newberry Road
The woman who nearly drove her car off a steep cliff along Newberry Road Monday morning managed to get out of the car with the help of a passerby and avoid injury.
She told KATU News she hit the brakes and slid off the road while driving around a corner on a route she'd never been down before. She said she ended up stopping with her car precariously perched on a cliff -- and she was in the driver's seat facing nearly straight downward.
Apparently, after another motorist stopped to help her out, a tow crew pulled the vehicle back up onto the road and the woman was able to drive it away just fine.
There was no immediate indication of what caused the woman to leave the roadway or whether or not she would be cited.
