Democrat Wheeler re-elected as Oregon treasurer
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Voters have returned Democrat Ted Wheeler to the Oregon treasurer's office.
Wheeler's victory on Tuesday was widely anticipated after his Republican opponent spent just $10,000 on the race.
Wheeler is a former investment manager and Multnomah County chair. He was appointed state treasurer in March 2010 after Democrat Ben Westlund died in office, and he was elected later that year to finish the term.
Republican Tom Cox won a write-in campaign to get on the ballot after no Republicans signed up to run for the office. He's a leadership consultant for businesses.
