Winterhawks fall 4-2 in Everett

The Portland Winterhawks (51-12-1-2) fell 4-2 in Everett Saturday against the Silvertips (23-37-1-4).

Ty Rattie put the Hawks on the board first when he was awarded a penalty shot at the 10:53 mark of the first, and beat Everett netminder Austin Lotz to make it 1-0. The Silvertips evened the score 37 seconds later with a power play goal from Kohl Baunl to make it 1-1, which remained the score through the end of the period.

After a scoreless second period, the Hawks outshot Everett 15-4 in the third period, but Reid Petryk gave Everett a 2-1 lead at the 10:32 mark. Rattie evened the game with his second of the game when he scored on a power play at the 13:09 mark to make it 2-2. Everett's Bauml scored his second of the game with a power play marker at the 17:57 mark, then the Silvertips sealed the 4-2 win with an empty net goal from Manraj Hayer with just under 13 seconds remaining.

Austin Lotz stopped 43 of Portland's 45 shots. Portland's Mac Carruth made 21 saves on 24 shots.

The Hawks and Silvertips meet again Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m.
