Trail Blazers surprise kids at basketball tournament
VANCOVUER, Wash. —
Some Portland Trail Blazers hit the road Friday -- not for an away game but to surprise kids in Vancouver.
Blazers players Pat Connaughton and Maurice Harkless crashed a youth basketball tournament at Clark College.
The team’s mascot Blaze, the Blazer Dancers and the stunt team joined in as well.
The kids, of course, were loving it.
"Some people got playing for the Blazer's team and then all coming out and people were like so excited, they were screaming," said Darius, one of the kids.
The Blazers partnered with Nautilus Inc. to pull off the surprise.
It was part of a program to help promote physical activity among kids.
