Tra'Renee Chambers was born and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from high school in 1991 and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to attend Loyola Marymount University. At age 21, she graduated with honors with a B.A. in Political Science and minor in Psychology. In 1998, she received her M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) from The University of Southern California and then in 2012, she became an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in the State of Oregon.
She began her radio career in 1995 as an intern at a radio station in Los Angeles, earned an overnight/weekend hosting position, and eventually landed in San Francisco as part of the Morning ZOOO Crew, handling news, weather, traffic and general “side kicking” duties.
She then landed a reporter job with Shadow News & Traffic, and moved to NYC in 2001 to work for 107.5 WBLS, as well as Sirius Satellite Radio’s “Hot Jamz."
In September 2003, family became a priority. Tra'Renee got married and had her first child (a daughter) in December 2004. With family as her focal point, the family relocated to Portland in January 2006, where she accepted a position with “Jammin’ 95.5." She had another brief stint in San Francisco, before finally returning to Portland in 2007 and having another baby girl.
Tra'Renee returned to the Jammin’ airwaves and joined legendary radio station KINK-FM in 2008. She was named the host of KATU's lifestyle show Afternoon Live in September 2016.
Tra'Renee says she has been blessed with the gift, ability and opportunity to do what she loves most: entertaining, enlightening and making personal connections, one listener and viewer at a time, while doing her biggest job of all…being a wife and a mother.
