51-day dry streak ends as rain dots PDX

The streak will end in 8th place but just a few days' short of making it into the top 3. We were nowhere near the record set in 1967 when essentially the entire summer went dry-- 71 straight dry days between June 23 through Sept. 1.

Our friends to the north in Seattle also had their long dry-streak snapped at 48 days -- their second longest, but they were much, much closer to their all-time record of 51 days. It was just 0.01" of rain at Sea-Tac Airport right before midnight -- barely enough to wet the ground but enough to count.
