Portland’s best bridge also shelters one of the city’s most romantic parks. The park earned its name from the Gothic arches that support the bridge on the east bank of the Willamette River. A beautiful, inspiring stroll.
Cape Meares Lighthouse
Lighthouses are inherently romantic. And Cape Meares ups the beacon of light romance game with a beautiful tree-lined stroll down to the stately lighthouse’s perch over the Pacific. In addition, a short walk to the “Octopus” or “Candelabra” tree is almost guaranteed to light your romantic flame. Grrrawr.
Is there anything more patently romantic than a sunset stroll on the beach? Pop culture tell sus no. The Nestucca Spit is home to some hauntingly beautiful forest and some classic views of Haystack Rock and Cape Kiwanda, but with a little more solitude. Oh my.
