Tra'Renee talks with Heidi Stewart who suffered from an undiagnosed inherited congenital heart, which caused her to have a sudden cardiac arrest at 18. She survived thanks to immediate CPR by school staff and an AED. She has since become an advocate for herself and for women everywhere as she has had to forge a new path for herself after the unexpected happened. Heidi was recently nominated and selected to be one of 11 "Go Red Real Women" heart disease and stroke survivors from around the U.S. who represent the Go Red For Women movement and help inspire others to take charge of their heart health and put an end to our No. 1 killer: cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease in the U.S. kill approximately one woman every 80 seconds. The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events may be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
