If you love true crime, you likely already know of investigative journalist Billy Jensen. He joined us to share his new book--Chase Darkness With Me: How One True-Crime Writer Started Solving Murders-- that examines the evil force that walk among us. He shared a little about how he started down this path, some of the stories that have stuck with him, along with why he believes the public is so important to helping police solve crimes.
Billy spent 15 years investigating unsolved murders, fighting for the families of victims – often using information found on social media and in other places the police don't think to look. Every story he wrote had one thing in common: they didn't have an ending. The killer was still out there. But after the sudden death of friend Michelle McNamara, crime writer and author of I'll Be Gone in the Dark, he became fed up. Following a dark night, Billy came up with a plan. A plan to investigate past the point when the cops had given up. A plan to solve the murders himself.
