Explosion causes damage at Beaverton apartment complex

An explosion severely damaged a garage door at an apartment in Beaverton early Wednesday morning. 

Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the reported explosion at the Willow Springs apartments on Southwest Doyle Place shortly before 5 a.m. 

At the scene, the first responders found a garage door that was badly damaged in an explosion. The garage was not connected to any apartments. 

Portland Police Bureau's Explosive Disposal Unit and Washington County Sheriff's Office Arson Explosive Detective responded to investigate. Authorities served a search warrant on the garage and removed several hazardous materials from inside. 

Deputies say there is no danger to the community. The investigation is ongoing and they have not made any arrests.
