A previous nominee for Oregon Governor, Dr. Bud Pierce joins Your Voice Your Vote to talk about his second attempt at running for office.

Pierce says he's a stronger candidate now, noting that he's had six years to think about the issues that the state faces, and he's looking forward to his run for office in 2022.

Gov. Kate Brown cannot run for reelection, so if Pierce is chosen as the GOP nominee, it's unknown who he will face as his Democratic opponent.

The doctor from Salem also talks about how the state is handling the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this week, 15 counties were moved back into the “extreme risk” category for virus restrictions. Some have criticized this decision, saying that the power to reopen should be in the hands of county officials.
