Kids Doing Good: Bryten's collecting cereal for Camp Attitude

An Estacada teenager is trying to bring smiles to hundreds of special needs kids who attend a free summer camp outside Sweet Home.

Bryten Figgins is wheelchair-bound and has a bone disease, osteogenesis imperfecta, that makes her extremely fragile. She’s suffered from more than a thousand broken bones.

But her time at Camp Attitude every summer is one of the highlights of her life. Last year, she saw a way to bring more smiles to campers’ faces: she collected around 250 boxes of breakfast cereal for campers to enjoy.

Those 250 boxes didn’t even last through the full 8-week summer camp.

So this year, Bryten is back at it, but she’s trying to collect 350 boxes this time, hoping that's enough for everyone to enjoy a treat during their week at camp.

"Breakfast helps you get energy," she says. "It's the most important meal of the day."

She has her favorite cereal.

"I only like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It just tastes so, so, so delicious!" she says.

You can help her reach her goal.

To donate to Bryten’s cereal mission, you can use PayPal. Her account is under this address: Or you can email that address to arrange for a cereal drop-off with Bryten’s mom, Teryl.
