LAREDO, Texas (Storyful) — World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma played at the US-Mexico border crossing on April 13 to begin a Day of Action to highlight shared culture and humanity in troubled times.

Footage tweeted by Pamela Ruiz shows a snippet of one of Ma’s performances near one of the border bridges in Laredo, Texas. Ma included some of Bach’s cello suites in his performance.

The performance was part of an event held jointly by Laredo and its adjoining border city, Nuevo Laredo, in Mexico, to celebrate the shared culture of the two cities.
