1 dead, 1 injured in crash with log truck near St. Helens

Investigators had Highway 30 closed on and off for about six hours Friday while they investigated a deadly crash.

According to Oregon State Police, a log truck and a car collided shortly before 12:30 p.m., sending both of them off the road.

OSP said the car turned left in front of the truck.

A woman in the passenger seat was killed. The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities haven’t released their names, pending notification of family members.
