PSU student injured in downtown Portland stabbing, suspect arrested

A 28-year-old Portland State University student received minor injuries when someone stabbed him in downtown Portland on Thursday night.

The victim and the suspect got into a fight at the Cheerful Tortoise bar at 1939 S.W. 6th Ave. just after 8 p.m. The suspect then stabbed the victim with a knife.

Police officers said they found the knife nearby. After further investigating, they learned the suspect’s name and his last known location.

Police took the suspect into custody at an apartment building in the 1900 block of Southwest 5th Avenue.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. He’s expected to survive.

The name of the suspect hasn’t yet been released.
