PORTLAND, Ore. — Police say a 16-year-old boy was shot in Southeast Portland Tuesday night.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired near Southeast 148th Avenue, just south of East Burnside Street, at around 10:30 p.m.
When police arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot in the leg. Officers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding and the teen was taken to a hospital. He was treated and released.
Officers found several spent bullet cartridges in the area.
Police believe the people involved in the shooting knew each other. They say there is no ongoing risk to the community.
