Police said a 10-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert sent out across the Pacific Northwest was found safe Wednesday afternoon in Cheney, Washington.

Officers said they found Alissa Helmandollar with her mother, Brooke, who reportedly took her from the girl's home in Nampa on Tuesday. Initial reports from investigators stated that the duo may have been headed for the Portland area.

The Helmandollars were spotted at an Idaho hotel that night, and Oregon State Police said they may have been seen in Hermiston, Oregon late Wednesday morning.

Hermiston is a two-and-a-half hour drive up Interstate 82 from Cheney, Washington.

In a press release, police said "Alissa may be in danger due to Brooke's recent threatening behavior" towards her daughter.

They canceled the Amber Alert shortly before 4 p.m. PST after they found Alissa and Brooke safe.

Authorities would like to thank everyone who shared the story to help them in the search.
