GOVT. CAMP, Ore. – Mount Hood and the Cascades are expecting to see three feet or more of snow through Tuesday, coupled with gusty wind conditions. | LATEST FORECAST

The Northwest Avalanche Center issued an avalanche warning for Mount Hood through Monday evening.

The concern arises when there is weak, old snow sitting on a strong crust, which could create “very large and reactive slab avalanches.”

The strong wind is also a concern.

Crews at the mountain resorts will likely be working to mitigate that risk through the day.
