Beaverton police looking for Fred Meyer attempted robbery suspect

Beaverton police released these images from a Fred Meyer video surveillance system of a suspect who they say tried to rob the store's customer service desk.

A man tried to rob the customer service desk at a Fred Meyer with a gun Monday night but failed, Beaverton police said.

The robbery happened at 6 p.m. at the Fred Meyer at 11425 S.W. Beaverton Hillsdale Highway.

The man fled on foot.

Police are now looking for him and say he is white, between 45 and 60 years old and is about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He weighs about 175 pounds. He has gray facial hair.

He was dressed in black and was wearing sunglasses and a black baseball cap that was on backwards.
