Clackamas search crews find stranded kayaker safe along Sandy River

Clackamas County Search and Rescue located a stranded kayaker safe Sunday, roughly a day after they went missing along the Sandy River.

The kayaker was reported as stranded on Saturday night near the Marmot Dam.

The CCSO dive team was called out to scour the river, and other law enforcement drove along roads in the hopes the kayaker made it out of the water on their own accord.

At about 3:30 p.m., deputies said they had located the boater, and that they were safe.

"Good job Search and Rescue on a difficult operation," the sheriff's office said in a tweet. "We're glad the kayaker is OK."
