Crash closes I-5 south in Woodburn
UPDATE: Our reporter reports the wreck has been cleared and the freeway is now open.
Oregon State Police said the problem started when a semi wrecked, and it got worse when other drivers approached the scene. Unable to stop in time, several vehicles slammed into each other. Six people went to the hospital.
WOODBURN, Ore. -- A crash Friday afternoon that resulted in serious injuries has closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Woodburn interchange, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Police are investigating the crash. It is unknown when the lanes will be reopened.
ODOT recommends that drivers use Highway 99E. They should expect delays.
