NEWBERG, Ore. - Crews extinguished a fire inside an airplane hangar unit in Newberg early Saturday morning.
A paper delivery person noticed smoke coming from the hangar at 406 Airpark Way and called 911. When firefighters arrived they found one of five attached hangars engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the other units.
None of the hangars contained airplanes and were mainly used for storage.
Approximately 35 firefighters from Newberg Fire Department, Dundee Fire Department, St. Paul Fire District and McMinnville Fire fought the blaze for about 40 minutes before it was under control.
Yamhill County Fire is investigating the cause and will determine damage estimates.
