Deputies ID driver who died in crash near Columbia River HS in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Deputies identified the 86-year-old woman who died Tuesday morning after crashing with a student who was pulling out of the parking lot of Columbia River High School.
The crash happened about 10 a.m. when a 17-year-old driving a Subaru pulled out of the parking lot onto NW 99th Street in front of a westbound VW Jetta.
The Jetta’s driver, Marion Klitza, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her husband, Franz Klitza, also 86, suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The student was also taken to the hospital; she is expected to survive.
The Clark County Major Crash Traffic Unit is investigating the collision to determine what led up to the crash.
