Deputies investigate robbery at Bethany-area bank

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that occurred at a Chase Bank in the Bethany area Saturday morning.

Deputies responded to the Chase Bank at 4732 NW Bethany Blvd. around 11 a.m. for a reported robbery.

Employees said a man came up to the counter and used a note to demand money.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Deputies searched the area, but did not find a suspect.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s. He’s about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build, short facial hair and glasses. He was wearing light blue jeans, a black coat, and a beanie hat with black, red and white stripes.

Detectives notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Anyone with information about the suspect should contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at (503) 629-0111.
