Drivers hit, kill pedestrian in Gresham
Police say two drivers hit and killed a pedestrian Tuesday night at Southeast 179th Avenue and Division Street.
The 911 call was made at about 7:30 p.m.
Police say the drivers of the two vehicles, a car and a small SUV, are cooperating.
The pedestrian, a man, was not in a crosswalk, police say. Visibility at the time of the crash was low, they say.
"At the time of the collision it was raining pretty hard. Visibility wasn't that good," said Gresham police spokesman Ben Costigan. "It's a super dangerous time for pedestrians to be out on the road, especially not using a lighted crosswalk."
Few other details were available Tuesday night about the man who was killed. The drivers were uninjured.
Westbound traffic on Division was still shut down at the scene as of 11 p.m.
The East County Vehicular Crimes Team is investigating the crash.
