E-scooter rider crashes with driver in NE Portland
A person who was riding an e-scooter is in the hospital after colliding with a car in Northeast Portland on Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called out about 5:45 p.m. on reports of a crash along NE 122nd Avenue near Interstate 84.
Initial reports state that the e-scooter rider was heading south on 122nd against the flow of traffic when they were hit by a driver making a legal turn.
The rider went to the hospital as a precaution.
Several businesses put out their rentable e-scooters on Portland streets in late July, part of a pilot program in the city.
Among the requirements for e-scooter use – riders must have helmets.
