FAIRVIEW, Ore. – Firefighters responded to a manufactured home fire in Fairview Tuesday morning.

The fire was burning off Northeast Lakeside Drive near Fairview Lake.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office responded and found the backside of a manufactured home engulfed in flames.

As the fire department arrived, deputies helped evacuate neighbors from surrounding homes and keep bystanders at a safe distance from the flames.

The sheriff's office said the fire destroyed the home.

Officials said the fire spread to some nearby trees. The first firefighters on scene said they thought the fire would spread because it started burning down a chain link fence.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Portland Police Bureau, Portland Fire and Rescue, Troutdale Fire Department, Gresham Police Department and Gresham Fire Department all responded to the scene.

They’re investigating the cause of the fire.
