Evergreen High School associate principal accused of sexual misconduct with a minor
VANCOUVER, Wash. – An associate principal at Evergreen High School is accused of having sex with a teenage student at the school.
According to The Columbian, KATU’s News Partner, Sadie R. Pritchard, 41, appeared in Clark County Superior Court Friday. She is facing three counts of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor.
Senior Deputy Prosecutor Colin Hayes requested the court set Pritchard’s bail at $5,000, The Columbian reported.
However, Judge Robert Lewis decided to release Pritchard from custody.
According to a declaration of probable cause,a student reported he had sexual intercourse with his vice principal, Pritchard, at Evergreen High School several times.
The student said that in October 2017, Pritchard started following him on Instagram and sent him messages offering to assist him with his homework. The student said the messages turned into flirtatious comments, which then led to the exchange of nude photos.
The student guessed they exchanged about 20 photos and that Pritchard initiated it.
The student said the photos have since been deleted and that Pritchard deleted her Instagram account.
Next, the student said Pritchard started pulling him out of class and taking him to her office. That's when the sexual relationship began.
The student said they started having sexual intercourse in December and it occurred about three or four times over about six weeks. He said the other time they had intercourse, it happened in a testing room.
The student said the sexual relationship ended because it made him mad. He said he told Pritchard that what they were doing was wrong and he could not continue doing it.
He said Pritchard gave him money on a regular basis for several months, totalling more than $1,000. The student denied the money was in exchange for sex of to keep him from telling anyone.
The human resources department at Evergreen High School recovered emails in which Pritchard would request the student be pulled out of class and report to her office, according to the court document.
The human resources department also discovered emails showing that Pritchard requested the student's grades be changed to a pass/fail status to improve his GPA.
Pritchard was placed on administrative leave before she resigned on May 29.
The Columbian says Judge Lewis ordered Pritchard to have not contact with the victim or any minors. She is not allowed to enter places occupied by kids, such as schools.
