Family of man found dead in burning car adds $2,500 to reward fund

PORTLAND, Ore. – The family of a man found dead inside a burning car in Portland is offering additional reward money to help solve the homicide.

The family of Andrew P. Hathaway has pledged a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. This reward in in addition Crime Stoppers of Oregon reward of up to $2,500 for anyone who helps solve the case.

Police discovered Hathaway dead on Sept. 5, 2018 at around 1 a.m. when they responded to a reported vehicle fire in the 6200 block of North Marine Drive.

While firefighters battled flames from the 2003 Chevrolet Impala, they found what they believed was a deceased person inside the vehicle.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 28-year-old Andrew Patrick Hathaway of Milwaukie and determined he died of homicidal violence.

There is no suspect information in the case.
