Fire heavily damages vacant Longview home
A vacant Longview home was heavily damaged in a fire Friday afternoon.
Firefighters were dispatched to a report of flames and smoke visible from the back side of a Longview home Friday at 3:58 pm.
Firefighters say the fire occurred in an attached storeroom built under a carport, before spreading to the interior from a kitchen window that broke from the heat of the fire.
Firefighters say that although the home had interior belongings, it was vacant.
Due to the extensive fire, smoke and water damage the structure is considered uninhabitable and a total loss.
Fire investigators are currently processing the scene to determine origin and cause.
There were no reports of injuries or displaced occupants. The building has been boarded up for security reasons.
