Free national park passes for fourth-graders & families

Wizard Island is seen in Crater Lake from the rim trail between Rim Village and Watchman Peak at Crater Lake, Ore., Oct. 5, 2015. The colors of fall in Crater Lake are blue and gold, the blue of the lake and the golden light of autumn, making this a prime time to grab your camera and capture stunning images at one of Oregon's 7 Wonders. If you're the parent of a fourth-grader you can get a free trip to national parks and national forests all over the country.

Through the Every Kid in a Park initiative, fourth-graders and their families can get free passes to parks and federal lands across the country.

Oregon's only national park is Crater Lake. Washington boasts Mount Rainier, the North Cascades and Olympic National Park.

The pass is good for the whole school year.
