Gang unit investigating after man shot outside New Copper Penny
PORTLAND, Ore. - Gang-enforcement officers are investigating after a man was shot at the New Copper Penny early Sunday morning, police said.
Police said it appeared the shooting happened after a disturbance inside the club spilled outside.
Somebody shot several rounds at the crowd just after 2 a.m., and 34-year-old Kyron Antonio Trevino was hit.
Police weren't sure the victim was the intended target.
The suspect is described as a slim black man wearing dark pants, a light-colored top. Police, including a K-9 unit, searched the neighborhood but couldn't find him.
Another man at the scene who wasn't connected with the shooting - 26-year-old Alander Lavine Jacob - was arrested on outstanding warrants.
The victim was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police called in the gang unit based on information they were given at the scene.
