Rock climber injured in fall at Lewis & Clark State Park near Troutdale, Ore.
TROUTDALE, Ore. – A rock climber was injured Sunday after falling about 25 feet at Lewis & Clark State Park, Corbett Fire officials said.
Emergency responders tell KATU News that a man was rock climbing at Lewis & Clark State Park when he fell 25 vertical feet, hit his head against the wall, and lost consciousness.
Initial reports state the climber was wearing a helmet, which prevented a more serious injury.
Crews had to lower the climber to the ground before he could be taken to the hospital.
He is expected to survive the injury.
