Police seek 'person of interest' after woman shot, seriously injured at Hillsboro home

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Police are searching for a "person of interest" after a woman was shot Sunday evening at a home in a Hillsboro neighborhood. Police say the woman is expected to survive.

Officers were called out to an incident at a home in the 2700 block of Southeast Tumblestone Drive, behind the Sunset Esplanade.

Police at the scene tell our reporters that a woman was shot; she was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities are now looking for 61-year-old Fidencio Diaz-Eguiza as a "person of interest in the case," saying he is "associated with the address."

Diaz-Eguiza is described as about 5-foot 10-inches tall, and weighing 220 pounds.

Hillsboro Police officials said they cannot confirm if Diaz-Eguiza is armed and dangerous, however, they ask the public to not approach him and call 9-1-1.
