Kirkland police investigating after resident shoots home intruder

KIRKLAND, Wash. — A Juanita-area resident reportedly shot an intruder at his home late Sunday night, according to Kirkland police, who are investigating the incident.

The shooting occurred around 10:45 p.m. near the 13300 block of 115th Ave NE, police say.

The intruder was transported to the hospital. Police say the intruder and resident knew each other.

Detectives are gathering more information.
