Man accused of hitting, killing bicyclist pleads guilty to criminally negligent homicide

PORTLAND, Ore. – The man accused of hitting and killing a bicyclist pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide Friday.

Alex Jacoby initially pleaded not guilty to his charges in June 2017.

Police say Jacoby was speeding when he hit and killed 21-year-old Robert Esparza in September 2016. Esparza was riding his bike in a crosswalk on Northeast Glisan.

Jacoby will be sentenced later in April.
