Man dead after shooting at Southeast Portland bar

PORTLAND, Ore. – A man who was shot at a Southeast Portland restaurant early Monday morning has died in the hospital, Portland Police officials confirmed.

Officers were called out about 12:45 a.m. on reports of gunfire at the Tik Tok Restaurant & Bar on Southeast Division Street.

Emergency responders arrived to find a man with traumatic injuries; he was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. Police identified the man as 25-year-old Charles Exzavyer Gaines.

Initial reports state the man was not inside the establishment before he was shot, and police believe the shooting took place outside the building.

Police said there was no evidence the shooting was connected to the restaurant.
