Man dies in downtown Portland crash, Macadam Blvd. ramps to I-5 north and I-84 east closed

PORTLAND, Ore. – A driver died in a crash Wednesday afternoon, and authorities have closed the Macadam Boulevard on-ramps to Interstate 5 northbound and I-84 eastbound.

The crash was reported about 3:20 p.m. as someone crashing a silver pickup into a pole near the intersection of Macadam Avenue and Southwest Curry Street.

Portland Police said that a driver, identified as a "male adult," was found unconscious. He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced deceased.

No word on what led up to the crash or whether anyone else was hurt.
