Man jumps from window to escape apartment fire in Northwest Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Crews extinguished an apartment complex on fire in Northwest Portland Monday morning.

Portland Fire and rescue received a report of the incident in the 1200 block of Northwest Marshal Street at 8:24 a.m. They say the fire was on the third floor.

Investigators say the fire started on the couch.

Fire officials say a man jumped from a window onto a second-story metal awning.

Crews put the fire out around 9 a.m. They contained the fire to one unit.
