Man walking past Portland Thai restaurant smashes window, terrifies customers

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police cited a man who startled customers at the Bangkok Palace in downtown Portland Wednesday when he smashed in a window.

Officers responded to the restaurant at 300 SW Taylor St. after receiving a report of the broken window.

Police located the suspect and took him to the hospital because they believed he was suffering from mental illness and could harm himself.

They identified the man as 32-year-old Aaron Charles White.

Police cited him for third-degree criminal mischief and harassment.

The incident was caught on camera. A woman was sitting next to the window the man is accused of smashing.

The sound startled everyone in the room and the man can be seen walking away. A customer ran out of the building and chased after him.
