PORTLAND, Ore. – Across the U.S. Saturday, students, parents, teachers and their supporters will take to the streets in March For Our Lives events to advocate for stricter gun control.

The national movement was organized by the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Fla.

“On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington DC to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today,” says a statement on the official march website.

A large march is scheduled to meet in Northwest Portland at 10 a.m., but that isn’t the only event in the Pacific Northwest.
