Firefighters put out a three-acre fire Wednesday after it was started by a farmer’s tractor when it caught on fire.

A man was baling hay in his field when his tractor caught fire, according to the Molalla firefighters.

The tractor was destroyed.

“The fire was wind driven, heading to the south, reaching neighboring property, a berry farm. One of the responding brush rigs got in front of it there, and extinguished it,” said Duty Chief Terry Ennis, a volunteer with the Molalla Fire District.
